It’s the 8th month of a very unusual year...it’s August. The sun is still shining and it’s warm.
We are now allowed to travel with no mileage restrictions Yayyyy ! It’s so exciting to get out in the wilds with the camera again, exploring, walking and cycling ! Hubby and I even had a fabulous camping trip, safely of course.
We have been visiting the heart of Sutherland a lot. So much to see and explore off the beaten track with no one in sight !
We’ve had amazing sunsets, spectacular sunrises, watched otters play, and found some great new hidden gems.
We also decided this month to do a trip down to Troup Head, Aberdeenshire. Another place we hadn’t been before and was on our places to visit list.
The high cliffs of Troup Head provide a spectacular setting for Scotland’s largest mainland gannet colony. It was amazing to see and watch these wonderful birds and photograph them in their coastal environment. We had great weather.....thankfully! I really didn’t relish the thought of high winds atop high cliffs !
We visited some of the east coast villages and castles too. A long but very enjoyable day out.
We are incredibly lucky in the Highlands, it’s a diverse but compact territory but away from the iconic spots and the NC500 route there’s so much to see and it’s all beautiful !

The canvases are selling very well in the outlets and online. As always I thank everyone new and regular customers for their continued support and hope they enjoy the little piece of the Highlands on their walls.
We started the month bathed in sun and have ended the same way.
We must not forget that COVID is ever present ....stay safe and well everyone ....till next month ...
